Kat

Hi, Iā€™m Kat! Born and raised in upstate NY, I am the mother of 3 amazing humans. 10+ years ago, I moved to Manhattan to help my kids get the training and education they needed and wanted to advance in their careers. Now that everyone is happily on their feet and on their way, I started craving a slower pace, more quiet evenings, and more space and air around me, and moved back to the Finger Lake region in May of 2020. I am a 500 hr Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga teacher, trained in the Hathavidya school, with specialization and particular interest in Restorative Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Meditation. My active asana classes tend to be physically and mentally challenging, with whispers of my former life as a dancer, but with plenty of room for ease and softness where desired.

I am a nurturer by nature. After spending many years raising children and other creatures, making homes, and sharing the love of dance with students of all ages, teaching yoga seemed like a natural next step in the progression. I have a deep love of giving my students space to explore and find truth, through surrender and discovering strengths, and through fearless expression, vulnerability and adventure.

True learning begins when we uncover and accept how much we have yet to learn.

Kayleigh

Kayleigh Shuler (they/she) - I am grateful and excited to be returning for Zen Phoenix's second annual self-care-focused retreat this year. A long time performer and writer turned Sociology and Psychology student at Arizona State University, my interests have become intertwined and led me to grow curious about creativity and imagination's ability to heal. In this container, I hope to create opportunities to not only get to know each other, but ourselves by journaling and holding space in guided discussions together. I look forward to celebrating with you!
